The Chelmsford High School a cappella group The Thursdays won the International Championship of High School A Cappella Northeast Region title for the fourth straight year and competed in the final Saturday. (Chelmsford High School, courtesy)
CHELMSFORD, MA An a cappella group from Chelmsford High School was among the top eight high school groups in the nation at International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA) national championship this weekend.
The Thursdays didn t place this year during the championship, but they did best some 130 schools nationwide to come in among the top eight high school music groups.
The national championship appearance marks the fourth for The Thursdays, as they qualified in 2017, 2018 and 2019 – the latter in which they placed a best-ever third in the U.S. ....

Chelmsford High School junior Sachi Badola was named the recipient of the Best Musical Theater Solo as Mouth Wachusett Community College’s Theater At the Mount announced its first of seven monthly TAMY Award winners Nov. 15.
Should Chelmsford High School win further awards, it will remain in contention to receive a full two-year scholarship to MWCC, the grand prize for the 2020-21 TAMY Awards. Each award is announced on the 15th of each month through April in seven different categories.
Badola performed and submitted “What Baking Can Do,” from the film-turned-musical “Waitress.” Last week, along with CHS senior Allison Dorsey, she was named among five finalists among 45 student entries covering 12 high schools. ....
