Canajoharie summer program welcomes back children | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Shares0 CANAJOHARIE – Some 40 youngsters started summer camp this week at the Canajoharie Youth Center’s summer program after the coronavirus pandemic essentially shuttered so many activities for children everywhere last summer. Annually, the Canajoharie summer program open to kids from Canajoharie, Palatine Bridge and Fort Plain draws a significant number of attendees. In 2019, 75 children took part in the program’s extensive in-house and field trip activities. “We have a lot of things planned for the kids and it’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Director Janice Dillenbeck of the 2021 program, where children from 8 to 13 are welcome to participate. ....
Virtual programming for this popular, family friendly event began March 9 and will continue throughout the month. âI am pleased my team at OGS (Office of General Services) has found a creative way to keep the Kidz Expo tradition going strong during this challenging time with a virtual experience offering children and their families fun and educational activities throughout the month of March,â commissioner RoAnn Destito said in a news release. The Virtual Hannaford Kidz Expo features video content, information and activities focused on education, healthy eating, and an active lifestyle. Approximately three videos will be posted each week for families to enjoy. Several Kidz Expo community partners are contributing to this yearâs program, including the New York State Police, Albany Public Library, Whispering Willow Wild Care, and more. ....
