Al Sadd crush Al Arabi to reach final 10 May 2021 - 11:07 Fawad Hussain | The Peninsula Al Sadd remained on course of winning a record-extending 18th Amir Cup title after they recorded a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Al Arabi in the first semi-final at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium last night. In a match completely dominated by Al Sadd, Nam Tae-hee scored the opener in 11th minute before a clinical hit by Baghdad Bounedjah (56th minute) and Santiago Cazorla’s spot kick in 80th minute sealed victory for the Xavi Hernandez-coached side. Al Sadd had also defeated Al Arabi in the final of 2020 Amir Cup last December. ‘The Wolves’ will play the Amir Cup final on May 14 against the winner of second semi-final between Al Duhail and Al Rayyan, which will be played tonight at the same venue. ....
Al Duhail clinch Qatar Handball League title 10 May 2021 - 11:32 The Peninsula Al Duhail edged Al Khor 29-28 in a final-round thriller to be crowned Qatar Handball League champions at the Al Duhail Indoor Hall 2 yesterday. Al Wakrah were leading the rankings with 45 points before the 18th and final round of the League while Al Duhail were occupying the second spot with 44 points. Al Arabi were in the third spot with a point below Al Duhail, making the final round a thrilling three-way battle for the prestigious title. However, Al Duhail s victory and Al Wakrah s 25-28 defeat against Al Arabi meant the hosts sealed the title. Al Wakrah had to finish third while Al Arabi signed off with second position after earning 43 points. ....
