More Rotorua school children will soon have access to the values-based education programme Kiwi Can thanks to a significant funding boost from BayTrust.
The $75,000 grant will be spread over three years, allowing the Graeme Dingle Foundation Rotorua to support the four local schools involved at present – Horohoro School, Mamaku School, Kaitao Intermediate and Sunset Primary – and look to expand the Kiwi Can programme to more local children. ....

Dozens of Rotorua locals with long-term mental health, physical or intellectual disabilities will now get the chance to gain their driver s licence thanks to a $5000 grant from BayTrust.
The money will be used by Te Aratu Trust to continue running their successful driving programme in 2021, avoiding the need to cut back the professional lessons, vehicle access and free petrol which are offered to those in need each week. ....

A Bay of Plenty charity that helps hundreds of locals cope with chronic fatigue and pain will receive a $10,000 grant from BayTrust to ensure their doors stay open in 2021.
Complex Chronic Illness Support Inc (CCIS) will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year but securing funding for operational costs is an ongoing battle, operations co-ordinator Miranda Whitwell said.
This funding makes a massive difference. It means survival. Our field officers are funded but this money helps keep our doors open so we have somewhere for people to meet. It pays for the photocopying, our computers and the internet – all those important bits without which our field officers can t do what they do and help our clients. ....
