The first panelist to speak was Alex Pollock, distinguished senior fellow at R Street Institute, a free market think tank in Washington, DC. Pollock mentioned several possible causes of the next financial crisis, including errors in judgment by the world’s central banks, a housing-market collapse, a future pandemic, or war. He cautioned that a crisis could be caused by a factor that “nobody sees coming,” which would inevitably hamper state response.
Rep. Jim Banks is proposing a change to House rules requiring committees to report how legislation will affect inflation to highlight the recent price increases many Republicans attribute to President Biden's policies.

Music Around the County will present the Dulcet Guitar Duo for its first free live concert of the season 3 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Marlton Park in Woodstown.
The duo Caroline Kubach and Alex Pollock performed virtually as part of last fall’s COVID-19 inhibited series.
Both musicians studied classical guitar performance at Rowan University, earning bachelor and masters degrees. Their program will include the traditional Dutch folksong “A Thanksgiving Prayer (We Gather Together),” the Shaker melody “Simple Gifts” and “A Dublin Lullaby” by Mark Houghton.
