People Shocked at Donkey Pedicure After Hooves Resemble Turkish Slipper

People are shocked over what donkeys hooves look like when you don t regularly trim them, after a professional shared a pedicure online.
An animal lover has set up a TikTok page dedicated to the four-legged friends, suitably called Cute Donkey.
Their most popular video, first shared late last month, has already amassed more than 19 million views, with people fascinated by the pedicure process.
The team has to use industrial-style cutters to remove the majority of the extra growth, before they trim away any excess matter.
Clearly loving their work, in an undisclosed location, their TikTok bio says: Repairing donkey hoofs and making them healthy is a very happy job! ....

A giant donkey who lost his best friend to cancer has found happiness with a new companion.
Topper, a 14-year-old Poitou donkey, lived with his companion Amber at their owner’s home in Wiltshire. Sadly, Amber was diagnosed with cancer and had to be put down.
Sarah-Jane Newton, Topper’s owner, said she was seriously concerned for his wellbeing after the loss of his friend.
“Topper was clearly in distress at being on his own and I was extremely concerned for his welfare, even to the extent that the whole family slept out in the garden summerhouse right next to his stable, just to keep him company at night,” she said. ....

A giant Poitou donkey left heartbroken by the loss of his best friend has found a new companion thanks to international animal welfare charity The Donkey Sanctuary.
Topper, a 14-year-old Poitou – one of the largest breeds of donkey – lived with his companion Amber at their owner’s property in Wiltshire. But when Amber succumbed to cancer, Topper was left alone, pining for his best friend.
At around the same time, a donkey named Dolly had been brought back into the care of The Donkey Sanctuary after a previous rehoming had not worked out. She had lived at a home with two other donkeys, but had not bonded them and it was felt that it was in her best interests to find her alternative companionship. ....

Veterinary students from around the world have benefited from a series of online teaching resources made available by The Donkey Sanctuary during the Covid-19 lockdown.
An initial approach from a British-based veterinary school led to help students with ‘Extra-Mural Studies’, placements to prepare them for working in clinical environments, led to the team putting together a suite of resources suitable for pre-clinical and clinical students. The resources included webinars, fact sheets, narrated power points, weblinks and case studies. ....
