A mentally disabled patient choked to death on a marshmallow, weeks after his sister “flipped out” when she found an open packet of the sweets in his bedroom, an inquest has heard.
Patrick Casey, who was on a strict pureed diet, died aged 41 on April 5, 2019, after he was taken to Barnet Hospital’s emergency department, the Coroner’s Court heard.
He had been a resident at Priory Devon House in Oak Wood since 2014, and has needed a wheelchair since his serious brain injury after he was struck by a car in 2005. ....
