Surf Life Saving Queensland today announced it is joining forces with hi-tech drone search and rescue company The Ripper Group in a move it believes will revolutionise the way lives are saved in marine environments around the world.

As of November 30 this year, 174 tiger sharks were among those reported with 102 bull whalers and 55 long nose whalers.
Three people lost their lives because of shark attacks in Queensland this year.
Fish City Charters owner Eddie Riddle, who s been in the industry for two decades, said the animals were in numbers that had never been seen before.
Mr Riddle, who operates out of Townsville, said they lost much of their catch to sharks - particularly bull sharks.

He said he also occasionally sees tiger sharks and hammerheads while bull sharks have been spotted in inshore estuaries. ....

A $70 million project opposite a popular Coast beach has had 30 per cent of its stock snapped up by Melbourne and Sydney residents looking for a permanent sea change.
A wave of new residents during the past six months has increased property demand, with Coast firm Cube Developments close to selling out three of its apartment projects.
Beach Life, a $70 million new apartment building near Alexandra Headland Beach, has had 30 per cent of its stock snapped up by interstate buyers.
Apartments at two other projects, Allura Coolum and One Prosperity have all sold.
