Illinois Sued to Let People Under 21 Carry in Public

Strengthening Families Program helps form bonds

Bennett Horne Special to the Times Record At a time when families seem to be moving away from the idea of spending time together around the dinner table, one organization is having success tightening the family bond by bringing everyone back to the table. The Strengthening Families Program is a new program started in 2019 by Comprehensive Juvenile Services, Inc. The community has stepped up to help make it happen, including the Fort Smith Fire Department, Antioch for Youth &  Family, and St. James Missionary Baptist Church. “It’s an evidence-based program that we are very excited about, a nationally accredited and recognized program that involves the entire family, said Comprehensive Juvenile Services Executive Director Janice Justice.
