Numbers compiled by the Blackfeet Community College in regards to the MMIW crisis show there are over 1,100 tribes in Canada and the US with eight Tribal Nations located in Montana. Statistics show 84% of Indigenous women have experienced physical, sexual or psychological violence in their lifetime. Additionally, Native American are four time more likely to go missing in the State of Montana ....
Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women event held in Arlee By: MTN News and last updated 2021-05-13 11:12:56-04 ARLEE â The Jocko Valley Walk/Run for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women awareness walk began at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The event was designed to remember and honor Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. Participants met in the parking lot of Arlee High School where a short introduction and an honor song took place. People dressed in red and holding signs then walked along US Highway 93 South through Arlee and onto the bike path. Participants then went down to Dirty Corner and then returned to the school for the Red Sand Project. ....

The Montana Highway Patrol responded to a pick-up truck versus four pedestrians just after 8:30 a.m. Monday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 93 North and Taelman Street. MHP Trooper Aaron Day tells MTN News a pick-up truck driven by an Arlee man hit the four pedestrians in a marked crosswalk. He confirmed that all four pedestrians were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. ....
