Coldwater girls softball drop two non-conference games at Schoolcraft

SCHOOLCRAFT, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater girl’s softball team saw their six game winning streak came to a halt on Tuesday as they were swept by Schoolcraft in a non-conference doubleheader by scores of 2-1 and 17-2 as their record dropped to 7-5.
The only Cardinal run in the opener came on a sacrifice bunt by Rylie Rice.
Coldwater committed eight errors and gave up seven unearned runs in the first inning of the second game. Alyssa Bach collected the only Coldwater hit in the nightcap.
The Coldwater J.V. squad was swept by Pennfield by scores of 20-6 and 13-2. Peyton McBride had an inside-the-park home run in the first game. ....

BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater extended its winning streak to six straight as they swept Hastings 20-1 and 15-2 in a Interstate 8 doubleheader on Thursday.
Karlie Knisley paced a 12 hit attack in the opener with three hits while Mia Rzepka tripled. Alexis Bills was the winning pitcher as she struck out four in two innings of work.
Coldwater collected 14 hits in the second game. Alyssa Bach drove in four runs. She along with Rylie Rice and Jayla Foster doubled while Brooklyn Kerry had a triple. Rzepka was the winning pitcher in the second game as she struck out four in her four innings of work. The Cardinals improved to 4-0 in the I-8 and 7-3 overall. ....

As the COVID-19 pandemic stretches time and resources, already high-stress proceedings such as divorces are now in unfamiliar territory, which some lawyers say is good reason to add “COVID clauses.”
Alyssa Bach, an associate lawyer at Toronto firm Shulman and Partners, explained to CTVNews.ca in a telephone interview Thursday that a “COVID clause” addresses “unknown aspects” of a divorce.
“A COVID clause would be those extra clauses that are added to provide settlement, while still addressing the unknown aspects that come with separating during a pandemic,” she said. “One example would be …if a job loss occurs as a result of COVID, or if somebody is working on a reduced income during COVID.” ....
