Coronavirus vaccine rollout: Calls for teachers to get priority jabs


We are classed in the general public in terms of getting vaccinations.
Ms Stephens said she registered for her COVID-19 vaccination back in May as Pfizer was opened up to over 40s, but is still waiting for the first available appointment in three weeks time.
But many of her colleagues are facing an even longer wait, unable to find an available appointment until September.
That s the end of next term - that s 10 weeks away, she said.
That s a bit concerning.

Like many women during the pandemic, Alisa Stephens found working from home to be a series of wearying challenges.
Dr. Stephens is a biostatistician at the University of Pennsylvania, and the technical and detail-oriented nature of her work requires long uninterrupted stretches of thought. Finding the time and mental space for that work with two young children at home proved to be an impossibility. ....

What is your current position at your home institution?
I am an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics at the University of Pennsylvania.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy that it never gets old. There are always new questions to be investigated, and I’m constantly learning something new about a different disease area or medical condition.  I’ve learned about risk factors and markers for progression in chronic diseases, assessment of performance outcomes ....
