The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife s Wildlife Walk guided hospital tours provide an opportunity for visitors to get an in-depth look into the inner workings of CROW s hospital and the treatment process of over 5,000 wildlife patients each year.
The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife’s AWC Visitor Education Center on Sanibel resumed offering its Wildlife Walk guided hospital tours and daily presentations to visitors today, June 1.
“It has been a long time, but we are thrilled to be able to offer our most popular programs once again in a way that is safe for our guests, staff and animals,” CROW Executive Director Alison Charney Hussey said.
Tune in for Southern Comfort on Sanibel and support CROW

The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife will host its virtual “Southern Comfort on Sanibel” on April 23 at 7 p.m., with everyone invited to tune in and take part from the comfort of their home.
The evening will enable CROW to continue to serve sick, injured native and migratory wildlife of Southwest Florida. The event will feature Animal Ambassadors and “never before seen” footage of the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam eagles while they were under CROW’s care. Evening activities will include a live and silent auction along with other fun surprises.

Annual Taste of the Islands winners announced

The Old Captiva House won Taste of the Taste and Best Seafood Dish.
The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife announced the winners of its 39th Taste of the Islands.
This year’s “Reimagined” event featured 31 restaurants from Sanibel and Captiva that diners visited throughout November. Local judges Harold Balink, Gina Birch, Karen Feldman, Jarred Harris, Gloria Jordan, Norman Love, Patrick Nolan, and Geoff and Robbie Roepstorff, along with surprise celebrity guest judge Keegan Gerhard of the Food Network, rated the restaurants’ offerings in a variety of categories while passport holders voted for the People’s Choice award, sponsored by Rosier Insurance.
