THE 2020-21 Budget, handed down this afternoon (February 9), outlines investments across every region in the ACT. With a key focus on education, construction and health, here’s a breakdown on where the funding will go… 
CENTRAL CANBERRA: For
central Canberra, including the inner north and inner south, the big funding commitment in this budget will be the
$2.1 million allocated for work to begin on extending the light rail network from Alinga Street to Commonwealth Park as part of the city to Woden light rail project.
Funding of 
$400,000 is allocated for detailed planning and design work for a new home for Dragon Boating ACT at Grevillea Park to allow the club to increase members in the growing sport and participate in local, interstate and international events. ....

An extension of Canberra s light rail line that will transform parts of Civic by raising London Circuit has gained federal environmental approval, as the ACT Government mulls whether the line should be extended further south than initially announced.

Construction works for new light rail stop – buses to replace some services
Construction of the new Sandford Street Light Rail Stop will commence from Thursday, 7 January 2021 along Flemington Road at the Sandford Street intersection in Mitchell.
The construction works will include the installation of long-term road barriers, excavation to install services, the pouring of concrete for the structural slab and the erection of structural columns.
A partial light rail network shutdown will occur between EPIC & Racecourse and Gungahlin Place stops for two weeks from Sunday 10 January to Saturday 23 January 2021.
During this shutdown, light rail replacement bus services will operate between Dickson Interchange and Gungahlin Place. These services will be operated by Qcity. Rail replacement bus stops are adjacent to light rail stops between Dickson Interchange and Gungahlin Place. Light rail services will continue to run between Alinga Street and EPIC & Rac ....
