MANAMA The new-look King Fahd Causeway Mosque has on Wednesday reopened its doors after undergoing renovation work costing 1.2 million Bahraini dinars (SR10.2 million approximately), the Bahraini News Agency reported.
Bahrain s Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa deputized Sunni Endowments Council Chairman Dr. Rashid Al-Hajeri to inaugurate the revamped mosque.
The opening ceremony was also attended by King Fahd Causeway Authority Chief Executive Officer Emad Almohaisen and a number of other officials. ....

Priti Patel was given a tour of a notorious police station in Bahrain where human rights activists have been tortured and sexually assaulted – including a man granted asylum in the UK.
The home secretary – who recently kept her job despite being found to have bullied her staff – also praised the repressive Gulf state for its “progress to achieve common interests”, local media reported.
The visit has been condemned by human rights groups and those mistreated at the Muharraq Governorate Police, by Bahrain’s infamous National Security Agency. ....
