Daily roundtrip flights to Juneau coming in spring

Alaska Seaplanes will begin offering two daily roundtrip flights between Petersburg and Juneau starting April 5, according to a press release from Alaska Seaplanes.
The airline will be flying two turbine powered aircrafts, the Pilatus PC-12 and the C-208 Grand Caravan. Both planes can carry up to nine passengers and will take about 55 minutes to make the trip between the two cities, according to the release. Alaska Seaplanes will be operating out of the former Pacific Wings building at the Petersburg Airport.

Chilkat Valley News: COVID positive man travels by air from Haines to Juneau

That report in the Chilkat Valley News says the 21-year-old intern was fired as a result.
Interim borough manager Alekka Fullerton told the newspaper that the student drove from Anchorage to Haines after being tested in Anchorage. He didn’t wait for his test result, according to Fullerton, and found out he tested positive after arriving in Haines on Friday, Jan. 8.
Despite promises to isolate in Haines, he boarded the flight to Juneau on Sunday, January 10.
He was scheduled to intern for Anchorage Representative Andy Josephson. The newspaper says the intern declined to comment. Josephson told the paper that the man who was not identified won t be interning for him. “He’s not going to be interning for me,” Josephson said. ....

A new airline service is coming to Petersburg. Alaska Seaplanes has plans for daily round trip flights between Petersburg and Juneau starting April 5.
People can already book the flights, which include two daily round trip options between Petersburg and Juneau.

Juneau-based Part 135 operator Alaska Seaplanes has become a launch customer for Baldwin Safety and Compliance s Alaska Aviation Safety Exchange.
Baldwin Safety and Compliance has rolled out a safety management system/quality management system program for operators in Alaska with the Juneau-based Part 135 commuter operator, Alaska Seaplanes, as a launch customer.
The Baldwin Alaska Aviation Safety Exchange is a customizable and scalable program that provides access to data, forms, reports, manuals, and other tools necessary for Alaska operations. Subscribers can share de-identified safety data within the Baldwin program and/or the FAA Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing database to facilitate lessons learned among participants. ....

Meals shipped to Haines

Juneau, AK (KINY) - 300 meals were prepared by Heritage coffee and were shipped to Haines by Alaska Seaplanes.
United Way partnered with Salvation Army and Red Cross to relieve pressure on Haines School District Food Services who has been providing meals for first responders and displaced families since the beginning of the disaster response.
Juneau CARES Meal Program Manager Kirk Stagg hauled totes to Alaska Seaplanes to be flown to Haines.
Major Shane Halverson with the Salvation Army will pick up from Alaska Seaplanes in Haines.
Salvation Army and Red Cross will deliver from the Salvation Army cantina that went up to Haines last week ....
