Shalby gains on acquiring implant assets from Consensus Orthopedics


Shalby gained 1.31% to Rs 162.40 after the company announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire certain assets from California- based Consensus Orthopedics, for a total cash consideration of $11.45 million.
The assets were acquired by Shalby Advanced Technologies Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mars Medical Devices, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shalby. The announcement was made on Saturday, 15 May 2021.
The acquired assets are primarily comprised of inventory and plant and equipment. Product inventory includes knee systems, mobile bearing knee systems, hip systems and revision knee systems. The manufacturing plant and equipment consists of machining & finishing (60,000 components per annum), inspection (75,000-80,000 components per annum) and cleaning, packaging & sterilization (1,50,000 components per annum). Surgical Specialty Center discharges last Covid-19 patients; to return to normal operations

Doha: Minister of Public Health HE Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari visited Hamad General Hospital’s Surgical Specialty Center (SSC) as the facility discharged its last COVID-19 patients and prepared to return to normal operations.
The SSC is one of seven HMC facilities that has been designated as a COVID-19 facility throughout the second wave of the virus, alongside Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital, Communicable Disease Center, The Cuban Hospital, Ras Laffan Hospital, Mesaieed Hospital and Al Wakra Hospital.
Commenting on the important role the SSC has played in recent months, H.E. Dr. Al Kuwari said: “The designation of the Surgical Specialty Center as a COVID-19 facility has been an important element of our strategy that has enabled us to significantly expand hospital capacity throughout this second wave. BILLINGS — Simpson the gray wolf at ZooMontana has had a rough year. First he was abandoned by his pack near Condon at just seven weeks old and then, after finding a forever home at ZooMontana, he was diagnosed with Congenital Hydrocephalus, a rare buildup of fluid in the brain.
