Smith Twp. trustees honor Ken O Brock s park efforts The Alliance Review Smith Township trustees awarded their Outstanding Citizenship award Wednesday night to Ken O Brock. During the monthly meeting, Trustees David Mannion and Scott Showalter presented O Brock with the award in recognition of O Brock s unselfish dedication to serve the residents of North Benton, Ohio, trustees said in a news release. The award was given in gratitude of his exceptional generosity in furthering the welfare of our Township through the construction of a pavilion addition to the Township Park in North Benton, the release said. This park was made possible through the generosity of Ken and Sharen O Brock. Michele Holden also applied to the position. Adams was appointed in December of last year to the position previously held by Brian Williams, who resigned from the board due to his move away from Havre. Adams resigned after less than three months on the board, prompting the remaining board members to, on the advice of Havre Public Schools’ legal advisor, immediately begin the search for a replacement at the beginning of this month. ....
[email protected] In a 3-2 vote, Fredonia Village Board members narrowly approved the water contract with the town of Pomfret. During discussion of the controversial issue, there was an urgency by some of the trustees to agree to the contract because the town was tiring of the wait, which may have led Pomfret to move its supplier to the North County Water District. Fredonia Trustee James Lynden was the most outspoken on this issue. “The contracts were not even negotiated,” he said. “Roger Britz (Fredonia trustee) and I were part of the water negotiations and how it ended up at this point I don’t know. In my opinion it wasn’t ready to come out of any kind of committee. The other contracts that are being presented are not even a realistic request. They represent great loss in revenues to the village.” ....
