The Muntinlupa City government has launched the Safety Seal Certification Program to encourage private establishments to comply with the minimum public health standards (MPHS) set by the national government amid the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

The city’s Social Service Department (SSD) conducted a mapping of the area after the fire to determine the number of families affected. Based on SSD’s assessment, 326 families or 1,241 individuals were affected by the fire. Of the total, 170 classified as house owners whose structures were totally damaged by the fire will get P10,000 each or P1.7 million, while 65 house sharers will receive P5,000 each for a total of P325,000. ....

Authorities said the fire damaged 50 houses, and affected 65 families or about 253 individuals. No one was injured. The cost of damage to property was estimated at P1.4 million.The fire department is investigating the cause of the fire. The first alarm was raised at 11:36 p.m. followed by a second alarm at midnight. It was declared under control at 1:05 a.m. and was put out at 4:20 a.m. ....

The fire quickly spread and the first alarm was at 12:22 a.m. and reached the third alarm at 12:29 a.m. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 1:49 a.m. and it was put out at 2:48 a.m. Eleven fire trucks, five water tankers, two ambulances and 25 volunteers responded to the incident.
