The AWS Space Accelerator is a four-week support programme that will provide technical, business and mentoring resources to startups seeking to use AWS to help solve the biggest challenges in the space industry. UK’s Satellite VU chosen for Amazon’s Space Accelerator programme Amazon has announced the first 10 startups to take part in its Amazon Web Services (AWS) Space Accelerator, with a UK thermal imaging company, Satellite VU, among those selected. The AWS Space Accelerator is a four-week business support programme that is open to space startups. The criteria for entry was “seeking to use AWS to help solve the biggest challenges in the space industry”. Specifically, there will be “an intensive, four-week program with AWS Cloud and technical training to help them accelerate research, development, and growth using AWS.” It is organised in collaboration with London-based Seraphim Capital (which has its own space accelerator programme), an investment group specialising in the space industry, who will provide business development and investment guidance. ....
Ursa Space. The AWS Space Accelerator is a four-week business support program that will provide AWS Cloud and technical training to help them accelerate research, development, and growth using AWS. The program also comes with up to $100,000 in credit toward AWS Activate, an Amazon program geared toward startups. Amazon CTO Werner Vogels wrote in a blog post about the program that the companies were selected out of more than 190 proposals from 44 countries. Three of the startups Cognitive Space, D-Orbit, and Leolabs deal with space traffic management and in-orbit satellite operations, and Lunar Outpost is working to develop autonomous robots for space exploration.
