Olmsted County Announces Over $3 Million In Grants


In January, the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners announced it allocated a total of $3,388,968 in economic relief funds to small businesses and non-profits affected by COVID-19 as part of the State of Minnesota County Relief Funding Program.
According to a press release from Olmsted County, a total of 169 small businesses met the eligibility criteria and were chosen as grant recipients, and 34 non-profit organizations met the eligibility criteria and were chosen as grant recipients.
A total of $2,711,174 was allocated to the grant program for small businesses and food/beverage-serving 501(c)(8) and 501(c)(19) non-profits, administered by Rochester Area Economic Development, Inc, and $677,794 was allocated to the grant program for 501(c)(3) non-profits administered by the Rochester Area Foundation (RAF). ....

Fantastic Sams, others accused of breaching lease agreement


EDWARDSVILLE A Highland Fantastic Sams and the parties who took over its lease agreement are accused of allegedly failing to pay rent and other fees for the commercial property. 
SFP Pool Six LLC filed a complaint Jan. 14 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Majik Inc., Brown-Mcfarland Inc., doing business as Fantastic Sams, Cynthia McFarland, Bob McFarland, Kathleen Wilson and John Wilson, alleging breach of lease agreement and breach of guarantee. 
According to the suit, Brown-McFarland entered into a lease agreement in March 2015 to rent a commercial space owned by SFP Pool Six, which is located on State Route 143 in Highland. SFP Pool Six alleges Cynthia and Bob McFarland personally guaranteed the lease agreement. SFP Pool Six further alleges that Brown agreed to an amendment to the lease in February 2017 that extended the lease to Jan. 31, 2022.
