First it was toilet paper. Then we couldn t find paper towels. We ve even had a Grapenuts shortage but this?! NOT THE CHICKEN WINGS! Chicken wings are the latest thing to face a shortage due to the pandemic.
Not only are restaurants coast to coast having difficulty getting chicken wings, but the price has sky rocketed! Up to almost $3 per pound from and average o $1.10 pre-pandemic.
Experts say several things are attributing to the shortage. A spike in take-out orders and the crazy winter storms in Texas suffered early 2021.
Tom Super is a spokesperson for the National Chicken Council. According to Business Insider, he said that while wing supplies are tight, he wouldn t call the situation a shortage. Super explaind why the short supply was directly related to the winter storms that struck Texas earlier this year. ....
