Sedona Historical Society digitizes 24 years of the Sedona Red Rock News

Thanks to a partnership between the Sedona Historical Society and Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Record’s Arizona Memory Project, the Sedona Historical Society began pursuing grants two years ago from the Arizona Community Foundation of Sedona and the Arizona Historical Society to digitize back issues of the Larson Newspapers’
Red Rock News from 1963 to 1980 as it was then know and the
Sedona Red Rock News from 1980 to 1987.
The historical society worked with a specialized vendor to digitize 800 issues of the newspaper, scanning over 20,000 pages and creating over 50,000 images in a variety of formats to meet prescribed Library of Congress standards. ....

Pima County Library Announces Gregory McNamee as Writer In Residence

Twice a year, the Pima County Public Library selects a local writer in residence to teach writing workshops and hold office hours for the community. For the upcoming spring semester, PCPL has selected Gregory McNamee, a local writer, photographer and journalist who has released multiple books on the culture and history of Arizona.
McNamee’s selection marks the 11th writer in residence since PCPL started the program in 2016. The residence is open to authors of any genre, and previous writers in residence include Alice Hatcher, J.M. Hayes, Janni Lee Simner, Susan Cummins Miller and Tucson Weekly s Margaret Regan. ....
