Singer Asim Azhar has an aunt, Durdana Ansari, who lives in the UK. Those of us who know even a tiny bit about the media would be aware of the fact that she has worked as a producer with the BBC for a long time and, a few years ago, also received an Order of the British Empire (OBE) from the Queen for coming up with a women’s development programme. Now, Ms Ansari has become the first Muslim and Pakistani woman to be appointed an honorary captain of the Royal British Navy. This has made the pop star super happy as it was his tweet that enabled everybody in Pakistan to read the good news. Congrats to both khaala and bhaanja! Latest research shows that the first Greek arrived in Australia in 1811

This research seems to overturn previous data about the presence of Greeks in the country.
Until today, it was commonly accepted and documented that the first arrival of Greek settlers in Australia took place in 1829.
However it has now been discovered that the first Greek immigrant actually arrived in Australia in 1811 meaning that “the parochial history has to be rewritten now,” as Mr. Markos explained.
A group of seven Greek sailors, previously thought to have been the first Greeks in Australia, arrived in the country on August 7, 1829.

According to a Tweet published on January 27, 2021, the British Navy HMS Blyth minehunter ship conducts some training in the Firth of Clyde in preparation for her upcoming deployment with the NATO MARCOM, Allied Maritime Command.

Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) is the central command of all NATO maritime forces and the MARCOM Commander is the primary maritime advisor to the Alliance. Like its land and air counterparts (LANDCOM & AIRCOM), MARCOM answers directly to NATO’s Allied Command Operations (ACO) which is located in Mons, Belgium.

NEW DELHI: As the fate of the world’s longest-serving warship INS Viraat hangs in the balance, Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has sought Union defence minister Rajnath Singh’s intervention to stop it from getting dismantled.
In a letter to Rajnath Singh on Monday, Chaturvedi said, “I urge you to let INS Viraat be a living, breathing and thriving memorial of India’s nationalism, patriotism and pride. We owe this responsibility to our children. Let us be preservers than destroyers of our rich history. Hence, it is my humble submission to kindly grant the NOC (no-objection certificate) that would help preserve INS Viraat.”
