racial terminology
A person’s race should only be included if relevant to the story. The words black and Asian should not be used as nouns, but as adjectives: black people rather than “blacks”, an Asian woman rather than “an Asian”, etc.
Say African-Caribbean rather than Afro-Caribbean.

Georgia Southern University professor Marla Morris, Ph.D., FRSA, has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.
Awarded by the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), the prestigious fellowship is limited to individuals determined to have made outstanding achievements to social progress and development. RSA, a London-based, British organization, traces its roots back to 1754, and unites influential and innovative problem solvers to seek ideas and solutions to resolve global challenges and be at the forefront of social change. Eden business forum to help firms during the Coronavirus pandemic


AN EDEN district councillor has set up a business forum to help firms in the pandemic.
So far 57 businesses in the area have joined the Eden, Cumbria - Business Network & Forum on Facebook which has been set up by councillor Debbie Wicks, leader of the Conservative group.
She noticed that, while places like Carlisle had a similar groups, there was nothing for businesses in Eden.
She said: I actually work in business development and I have a passion for seeing people doing well.
It s just a case of putting the page up and making sure people know about it, the more information we can share the better. ....
