But the COVID-19 pandemic that began in March, “threw a wrench into that,” Sarah Davis said. She had just graduated with her master’s degree, and with the economy tanking in the spring, it took longer than expected to find a job as a nurse practitioner. On top of that were the medical concerns of being pregnant during a pandemic. “Having a second kid is not cheap, and I also had a lot of anxiety about not knowing if (pregnancy) was safe,” she said. “It just freaked me out. We decided `not now.’” ....
