AMMAN His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Baghdad, on the sidelines of the fourth trilateral summit between Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq.
Discussions covered the need to maintain coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern, in service of shared interests and Arab causes, according to a Royal Court statement.
The meeting also tackled means of bolstering cooperation in various fields, especially efforts to counter the humanitarian and economic implications of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Israeli offensive on Gaza Strip entered its second week on Tuesday, despite US and global diplomacy efforts to stop the bloodiest round of fighting between the sides since 2014.
The Israeli military said on Monday that it was fighting a “war of attrition” in Gaza and that a ground invasion remains possible.
While US President Joe Biden expressed his support on Monday for a ceasefire, telling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Washington seeks an end to hostilities, the White House has approved the potential sale of $735 million in precision-guided weapons to Israel. Sources in Congress told Reuters news agency that the plan faced no objection from politicians.

Jordan reported 111 COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday, the highest daily toll since the pandemic started, the health ministry said.
It reported 6,570 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, taking the cumulative total to 611,577 cases along with 6,858 deaths.
The surge since early February, blamed on the fast spread
of a variant first identified in Britain, has put Jordanâs
