Province Wants to See the Border Opened

The border between the US and Canada has been closed since shortly after the pandemic started in March of 2020, It is slated to stay closed until June 21, but the pressure is on to reopen the border as the COVID-19 situation improves because of vaccinations.
Tourism Minister Jeremy Harrison says it is the government’s opinion that its time. He says the belief is that it can be safely reopened and thee is an economic importance to getting it reopened.
The Prime Minister has indicated that a multi-phase approach to reopening the border is what they are looking at. It would start with those who have been fully vaccinated to enter the country this summer. ....

I was taken a bit by surprise by the language used by Premier Scott Moe and Minister Jeremy Harrison on Friday when they were saying the words “fill” and “full” with regards to Mosaic Stadium.
So much for the dimmer switch to turning the province back on. But I also appreciate they’re trying their best to convince us to get vaccinated so we can have such things as a full Mosaic.
The thought of 33,000 people heading to Mosaic is weird for some to process. For a year, we’ve kept our distance at grocery stores and even close family events like weddings and funerals. Now you want me to sit next to a stranger at a football game for three hours? ....

The Saskatchewan NDP is reheating its election platform in time for the spring legislative sitting, insisting it’s just the recipe to get the province out of its economic doldrums.
NDP Leader Ryan Meili joined his jobs critic, Aleana Young, to demand that the 2021-22 budget tackle long-standing priorities for their party.

Meili said the NDP’s priority is prosperity. He wants the PST removed from construction labour and Saskatchewan-first procurement to give local companies a leg up on government contracts, plus affordable childcare, a film tax credit, paid sick days for workers and a $15 per hour minimum wage. ....
