In line with the government s promise to keep the price of rice stable, the country has so far imported a total of 56,391 tonnes of rice which reached the country from India through various land ports Bhomra, Darshana, Benapole, Sona Masjid, Hili, Burimari, Banglabanda and Sheola, as of yesterday.
Besides, 55,129 tonnes of rice has reached the country under the open tender system, a Press Information Department (PID) handout said today.
