The Chargers won the boys meet 78-50 while Athens won the girls meet 84-46. Union City’s boys won all of the relay races. Individual winners for the Chargers were Riley Laird in the 100, Hunter Snike in the 400, Brennon Wood in the 800, Michael Wilcox in the 300 hurdles, Logan Cole in the discus and Nathaniel Maurer in the long jump. Kassandra Kohsmann won the 100 and 200 in the girls meet for Union City. Other Charger winners were Kyla Burdick in the 400 and the pole vault along with Amelia Jane in the 1,600 and 3,200. Union City finished first in the 400 and 800 relays. ....
Senators honor Gordon s brother ex- Gapo Mayor Bong The Senate on Wednesday adopted Resolution No. 643, introduced by Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Migz F. Zubiri, expressing the profound sympathy and sincere condolences of the Senate on the death of former Representative and Olongapo City Mayor James Bong Gordon Jr., the younger brother of Sen. Richard Gordon. Gordon, a professional musician, died February 9, Tuesday, at the St. Lukes Medical Center. He was 73. He had a talent and passion for music, and he performed with his singing group called Houseboys, formed while he was in Congress, and with his band Bonggo, the resolution stated. The band released a record Fighting for Excellence which was recently certified Gold by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry. ....
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Belgrade Community Coalition and every single person who played a role in bringing the recent Christmas Convoy event to our community. I am not sure what came over me as I stood in the snow and watched in amazement as the dazzling vehicles passed by me, but I actually had to wipe a few tears away. Seeing the result of the colossal efforts of so many people who obviously invested a lot of energy, time and expense in order to bring joy to others really got me right in the heart. Not only was I filled with childlike wonder but I was able to forget about the division that has infiltrated our country, states and towns, and the maxim of âsocial distancing.â All the negativity of 2020 was for a time, replaced with Christmas joy and peace. It was exactly what our community needed. ....
