Reduce source tax on frozen shrimp, other fish export to 0.25%: Frozen foods exporters Star Business Report Star Business Report Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporters Association (BFFEA) has demanded reduction of source tax on export of frozen shrimp and other fish to 0.25 percent from the present 0.50 percent. The BFFEA also urged the government to increase cash incentives for export of frozen shrimp to 20 percent from the current 10 per cent, and incentive for export of other fish to 10 percent from 5 percent. BFFEA President Amin Ullah request to completely stop the deduction of 10 percent advance income tax on cash assistance provided by the government for the export of frozen food.

Two arrested with elephant tusks in Ctg Photo: Collected Star Digital Report Star Digital Report Members of detective branch of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) have arrested two persons and recovered two large elephant tusks from them after conducting drives at Karnaphuli s Maijjartek area in the port city on Monday. The arrestees are Jane Alam (28) and Md Amin Ullah (58), reports our Chattogram correspondent quoting CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (public relations) Shah Md Abdur Rauf. The arrest was made on Monday night but police disclosed the matter yesterday around 8:00pm. ADC Rauf said a team of DB police, led by inspector Md Alamgir, arrested the duo at Char Patharghata area of Maijjartek under Karnaphuli Police Station and seized two elephant tusks from their possession.
