Members of detective branch of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) have arrested two persons and recovered two large elephant tusks from them after conducting drives at Karnaphuli s Maijjartek area in the port city on Monday.
The arrestees are Jane Alam (28) and Md Amin Ullah (58), reports our Chattogram correspondent quoting CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (public relations) Shah Md Abdur Rauf.
The arrest was made on Monday night but police disclosed the matter yesterday around 8:00pm.
ADC Rauf said a team of DB police, led by inspector Md Alamgir, arrested the duo at Char Patharghata area of Maijjartek under Karnaphuli Police Station and seized two elephant tusks from their possession.
