The High Court today wanted to know names of those who were cleared from the Anti-Corruption Commission s inquiry into corruption allegations in five months before its (ACC) former chairman Iqbal Mahmood retired on March 10.
The court ordered the ACC to submit a report on the details including names and addresses of the corruption suspects, who were exempted from its inquiry proceedings, to it by April 11.
The ACC has been asked to mention in the report on which grounds they were given impunity from the inquiry. ....

The High Court today asked why SK Sur Chowdhury, former deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank, and its Executive Director Shah Alam were not arrested yet for assisting PK Halder in embezzling and laundering huge amount of public money from four non-banking financial institutions.
