Anti-money laundering (AML) compliance should not merely be a tick-box exercise for financial institutions, as it not only exposes the organisation to the risk of hefty non-compliance penalties and reputational damage, but could also lead to criminal activity going undetected.
The estimated amount of money laundered globally in a single year is between 2% and 5% of global GDP, or $800bn to $2trillion, making it one of the most serious financial crimes worldwide. It is therefore vital that financial institutions that work on financial data to combat money laundering implement AML compliance programmes and comply with international regulations. ....

StockMarketWire.com - Luxury carmaker Aston Martin Lagonda kept its guidance for 2021 unchanged after reporting wider annual losses as sales fell sharply owing to the pandemic impact and an ongoing plan to cut dealer inventory.
For the year ended 31 December, pre-tax losses widened to £119.6 million from £466 million, as revenue fell 38% to £611.8 million.
Retail sales fell 32% to 4,150 vehicles and wholesales fell 42% to 3,394 vehicles reflecting its action to reduce dealer stock levels and the Covid-19 impact, the company said.
The rebalancing process to match supply to demand was expected to be largely completed in Q1 2021.
For 2021, the first full year of the plan, the company said it expected to see the first steps towards improved profitability. ....

Associated British Foods today said it expected to reopen 83% of Primark stores by 26 April, and forecast better-than-expected first-half performance for its grocery, sugar, agriculture and ingredients businesses. Its share price continued on its upward trajectory, reaching £24.38 this morning.
Spectris Shares price was down 1.39% at £30.45 in spite of announcing a 5% increase in its full year dividend for 2020, alongside a £200 million share buyback programme. ....
