GREENE (WBNG) The Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) introduced a new series of summer concerts this year as live music makes a return after the pandemic. The Summer Chamber Music Series features a brass quintet playing a program of music titled Music of the Americas. The BPO usually performs from September through May but this new series of summer concerts allows musicians to continue performing. Assistant Executive Director Abby Cleveland said these concerts are a great way to connect the community through the power of live music. What we re really trying to do is expand to diverse communities, Cleveland said. We re looking at the small rural areas like Greene and Owego. We re even looking at some of our historically black church in Binghamton and we re reaching out to these communities that normally wouldn t be at the Forum Theatre where we traditionally perform. ....
Annual Mac and Cheese Fest returns as a pick-up event Provided by the Binghamton Philharmonic The annual Mac & Cheese Fest serves as a fundraiser for the Binghamton Philharmonic. 12 participating restaurants to compete for votes on who has the best mac and cheese February 17, 2021 The Mac & Cheese Fest has been a staple of the Binghamton community for years, serving as a fundraiser for the Binghamton Philharmonic. Now in its sixth year, it has returned with a new structure. On Feb. 18 at the Broome County Forum Theatre in Downtown Binghamton, the Mac & Cheese Fest will be only a pick-up event. Due to limited crowd gathering guidelines, only the chefs of each participating restaurant will be inside the Forum Theatre, scooping mac and cheese for each attendee. From there, volunteers will bring food containers with the restaurants labeled on them to the people in their cars. Twelve restaurants will be participating this year, including new addition ....
