Cops bust bootleg booze outfit in JB, seize over 20,000 litres of contraband

JOHOR BARU: Some 93 barrels of counterfeit liquor and 5,419 of bottles of untaxed alcohol were seized by the authorities here in a raid under Ops Contraband.
Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Comm Datuk Seri Abd Rahim Jaafar said the raid was conducted on a shophouse at Taman Desa Idaman in Senai here at around 6.10am on Monday (May 10) following a tip-off.
“Two individuals, a local and a Myanmar national, between the ages of 25 and 35, were also arrested during the raid. ....

The police are prepared to conduct house-to-house inspections in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations to ensure there are no unapproved cases of interstate travel.

KOTA BARU (Bernama): The police have distributed photographs of Nicky Gang members to national border control posts for the authorities to apprehend them if they attempt to escape abroad.
Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department (KDNKA) director Datuk Seri Abd Rahim Jaafar said the photographs of the gang headed by fugitive businessman, Datuk Seri Nicky Liow Soon Hee were being circulated among members of the General Operation Force (GOF).

KUALA LUMPUR: While most Malaysians complied with the first movement control order last March, this time around people have adopted a carefree approach that has not helped reduce the number of Covid-19 cases.
Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Comm Datuk Seri Abd Rahim Jaafar said the police were concerned over the huge increase in the number of compounds issued to people who violated Covid-19 standard operating procedures in just the first three weeks of this year.
