Congratulations, can you tell us about your new appointment?
I took over this position on the 4th of January 2021. I took over from Captain Ado Sanusi. So I am here now and I am looking forward to, at least, take the company to another level. Captain Sanusi has done wonderfully well. He was really good. He met a dying company and resuscitated it. He brought the company back to life. My own is to make it stronger from where he stopped. That is why right now I am here and I am focused and I will make sure that I try as much as possible to see that the staff are happy. This is because the greatest assets of any organisation that you have are your employees. In as much as I want to make them happy, we are constrained because of the situation in the global aviation industry due to the COVID-19 devastation. As you can see, the tourism industry has been hit so badly by this pandemic. So we are just trying to get out of it. God-willing from what we are seeing, hopefully, we will get o ....

Daily Trust - Captain Mahmood takes over as Aero Contractors' CEO

Captain Mahmood, who previously worked at Skypower Express Airways joined Arik Air in 2007 as a flight officer and held the positions of Chief Pilot/Deputy Fleet Manager, Airbus A330; MNPS Training Captain; and Fleet Manager, Canadian Regional Jet (CRJ) 900.
He was also at a time the Line Training Captain and Member, IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) for Arik Air Flight Operations.
He trained at Aviation Atlanta Peach Tree Airport, Atlanta Georgia for his Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL); Nigerian College Of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Nigeria where he obtained a Private Pilot License (PPL), Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Multi/IR. ....

Daily Trust - Aero Contractors MD, Ado Sanusi, resigns

Sanusi was appointed the MD in February 2017 after it was taken over by the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).
It was learnt that his tenure, according to the contract with the AMCON, actually elapsed six months ago but it was extended till the end of December, 2020.
The former MD, however, formally left the organization on December 29, 2020 after he helped to stabilize the organization and even revive the moribund Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) wing of the airline.
The resuscitation of Aero MRO helped the airline in bringing some of its aircraft back to service as Sanusi took over when the airline had just one serviceable aircraft. ....

Nigeria’s leading domestic airline, Aero Contractors has named Captain Abdullahi Zubair Mahmood as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Captain Mahmood, who was formerly Chief Pilot, Arik Air Limited, takes over from Captain Ado Sanusi who would later head a new airline, NG Eagle, which is in the process to secure its Air Operating Certificate (AOC) from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Captain Mahmood’s appointment has also been received by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
