Lawmakers who support Jahangir Tareen met with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday to share their grievances over an ongoing crackdown against the ruling PTI’s former secretary general but failed to convince the PM to form a judicial commission to probe into the allegations against Tareen.
A total of 28 PTI lawmakers – including both National Assembly members and provincial assembly members – called on the prime minister for “seeking justice” for the disgruntled PTI leader who is among the sugar mills owners facing Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) crackdown.

ISLAMABAD:
A group of 33 disgruntled PTI lawmakers – who have rallied around ruling party’s beleaguered former secretary general Jahangir Tareen – will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan today [Tuesday] to share their concerns with regard to the investigations carried out against Tareen.
Tareen has confirmed the development but clarified that he will not be part of the delegation.
These lawmakers include 11 National Assembly members (MNAs) including Minister for State and Frontier Regions Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan.
The MNAs include Raja Riaz, Sami Gillani, Riaz Mazari, Khwaja Sheeraz, Mobeen Alam Anwar, Javed Waraich, Ghulam Lali, Ghulam Bibi Bharwana, Faizul Hassan Shah and Sahibzada Ameer Sultan.

Estranged PTI leader Jahangir Tareen said on Thursday that he had been assured of a meeting between his group of supporters and Prime Minister Imran Khan in a few days .
Speaking to the media outside a Lahore sessions court, the sugar baron said he had hosted an Iftar dinner for his allies earlier this month. A day before, some individuals from Islamabad contacted me and said that our group would have a meeting with the premier in a few days. Our entire group will meet the prime minister soon, said Tareen, adding that his relationship with the premier was not weak .
