March 4, 2021 By Chuks Oyema-Aziken The Mothers for United Nigeria (MUN) has lauded the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies for the release of Pastor Yikura of Ekiliziyan Eyanuwa a Nigeriya, EYN (Church of Brethren in Nigeria) and rescue of 26 humanitarian workers. The Pastor regained his freedom from his abductors suspected to be members of insurgents, while the humanitarian workers working with international agencies including United Nations were trapped in their building in Dikwa when the timely deployment of army troops by GOC of the Division, General Abdul Khalifa and the active aerial operation by the Nigerian Airforce (NAF) foiled plots of terrorists’ from taking over Dikwa. ....
TODAY The Nigerian troops have moved 26 humanitarian workers they rescued, from Dikwa to Maiduguri. The humanitarian staff working with international agencies including United Nations were escorted to the Borno State capital, by troops of 7 Division Delta Force, together with 195 and 112 Battalions. The troops had earlier foiled an attempt by Boko Haram terrorists to infiltrate Dikwa town in the last few days. The insurgents had stormed the town on several gun trucks, determined to takeover and declare it one of their caliphates. But a military intelligence officer told PRNigeria that the timely deployment of army troops by GOC of the Division, General Abdul Khalifa and the active aerial operation by the Nigerian Airforce (NAF) prevented the terrorists from achieving their ‘sinister objective’. ....
