SUKKUR: Managing Director Sindh Education Foundation, Abdul Kabeer Kazi, visited village Ghulam Hussain Marri to condole with the parents of seven students, who were killed five days ago in a road accident at Kot Lalo in Khairpur. The Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Child (SPARC) on Thursday organised a comprehensive training session for the probation and parole staff and other relevant government officials for providing support to young people in prisons and under probation in Sindh.
Speaking to the participants, Dr Muhammad Usman Chachar, the Sindh home department additional chief secretary, said the provincial government had been taking proactive steps to improve the criminal justice system and implement the laws.
âIt is highly appreciable that the need is being realised for capacity building of probation staff and other linked departments to improve support for youth in conflict with law,â he said. The Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) is going to establish 1,000 educational institutions across the province under public-private partnership to bring 200,000 out-of-school children back to classrooms.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took the decision during a meeting of the SEFâs board of governors that he chaired at the CM House on Wednesday.
The meeting was told that the SEF plans to set up a thousand schools that will be run by private partners, and these institutions will have the special task of bringing 200,000 out-of-school children back to classrooms. After a discussion, the board members approved the proposal. ....

Sindh to establish 1,000 new schools, will enroll 200,000 students

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved a proposal to establish 1,000 new schools under public-private partnership arrangement to enroll 200,000 out-of-school children in the province.
The semi-autonomous Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), which is primarily responsible for supporting the non-governmental and charitable organisations to spread education, has been tasked with establishing 1,000 new schools in the province.
Sindh CM approved the proposal to this effect while chairing the meeting of board of governors of SEF.
Out-of-school children is a major issue in Sindh as their numbers are estimated to be around four million. While chairing the meeting of SEF’s BoG, the CM said that enrolling out-of-school children was the foremost priority of his government. ....
