NEW DELHI: The Union health ministry on Saturday said that private hospitals have received over 1.20 crore doses of Covid vaccines in May.
A large number of private hospitals that had a contract with Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech have been supplied with Covishield and Covaxin doses respectively, it said in a statement. As on June 1, 2021, private hospitals have received over 1.20 crore doses of Covid vaccines in the month of May. These private hospitals are not limited to the bigger metro cities but also from Tier two and three cities across states, the ministry said.
It said states with fewer number of private hospitals have been requested to review the status and list the better performing hospitals under AB-PMJAY and state-specific insurance schemes, keeping a geographical spread in mind, and encourage them to get into agreement with the vaccine manufacturers.
“Till date, 20.46 lakh golden cards have been issued. At least one member of 6.68 lakh families has been issued golden card in the Jammu region,” an official said.

New Delhi [India], March 12 (ANI): National Health Authority s Aap Ke Dwar Ayushman campaign has recorded over 4.7 lakhs beneficiary verification in a single day on March 10 to enable these beneficiaries avail free healthcare services under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) scheme. Aap Ke Dwar Ayushman campaign was launched from February 1 this year. Bihar was the first state to activate the beneficiary verification process in the mission mode under the initiative.
The aim of the campaign is create large scale awareness about AB PM-JAY health insurance scheme among all beneficiaries residing in all parts of the country especially in rural and interiors parts so that beneficiaries can avail cashless healthcare benefit upto Rs 5 lakh per family per year.

Will be a single non-lapsable reserve fund for health
Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Nidhi (PMSSN) as a single non-lapsable reserve fund for share of Health from the proceeds of Health and Education Cess.
The accruals into the PMSSN will be utilised for the flagship schemes of the Health Ministry including Ayushmann Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY); Ayushman Bharat–Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs); National Health Mission and Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) and also disaster preparedness, and responses during health emergencies.
