Tall glazed facades bring natural light and ultramodern look to Brisbane business park

Tall glazed facades featured on the Eagle Farm Business Park near Brisbane bring natural light to the interior spaces while delivering an ultramodern look on the outside.

Size is everything when it comes to commercial windows

Nathalie Craig Bigger is better right now when it comes to windows and doors and in the commercial sector, according to National Marketing and Business Development Manager at Australian Glass Group, Michael Ward. Ward says this is not only for those inside to appreciate the views outside, but also for those passing by to see the “engineering feats and activity within”. It may sound simple enough to execute, but Ward points out that these larger windows and doors can cause issues with meeting the strict new minimum energy efficiency requirements in the revised National Construction Code (NCC). “This translates to lower Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) and lower U-Values in the glazing,” he says.

Glazed facades with Alspec framing opens up new learning centre to light

Alspec aluminium framing systems were used to create a light, welcoming and well-ventilated environment at the new Kurrajong Centre for Senior Learning at Springfield Anglican College in Queensland. “Open, full of light and with incredible amenity” - that’s how the new educational facility was described by local State Member, Charis Mullen who attended the building’s official opening ceremony along with students, teachers, parents and friends of the college. Designed by Fulton Trotter Architects and constructed by Queensland firm Condev, the new addition to the Springfield campus features a variety of learning and meeting spaces for the college’s senior students.
