Music coming to Stamford Diversity Festival in August
Stamford Diversity is an open access, free, family friendly festival which will take place on the Stamford Recreation Ground from 11am-6pm on August Bank Holiday Monday (30th). The Festival is being funded with £5,000 from South Kesteven District Council Community Fund, £1,000 Stamford Town Council Grant and money from the sales of Stamford World Cook Book (available for £12.95 from All Good Market and Cakes+co in Stamford) which features recipes from locals of different heritages.

Stamford Anti-Racism Group event offers insight into the lives of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people

An insight into the lives of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people was given to a Stamford group which aims to tackle and put an end to racism.
Stamford Anti-Racism Group hosted an online discussion with guest Ollie Malik, 16, a Roma actor and activist who has featured in the BBC young reporter podcast.
Nicola Muer, a Romani member of Stamford Anti-Racism Group who is a student and human rights volunteer, also contributed.

The event co-ordinator, Yvette Diaz-Munoz, said: âThere is so much negative portrayal of the gypsy, Roma and traveller community, particularly in the press and on social media.
Contributors to the Stamford World Cookbook discuss their recipes
Contributors to the Stamford World Cookbook have shared the story behind their recipes.
The Stamford World Cookbook was launched in December to celebrate cultural heritage and raise funds for a diversity festival which is planned to take place in August.
The book includes recipes originating from Turkey, Guyana, Ecuador, Poland, Venezuela and Japan, which have all been bought to the table by people from Stamford and the surrounding villages.
