LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The California Governor s Office of Emergency Services announced today that seven new fire engines were transferred to agencies across the Southland.
The Type VI fire engines were transferred to Los Angeles and Orange County fire jurisdictions as part of the California Fire and Rescue Mutual Aid System, according to a Cal OES statement. The engines are used in wildland and urban fire responses due to their versatility, maneuverability, off-road abilities and firefighting capabilities.
The engines were transferred to the Anaheim Fire & Rescue Department, Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue Department, Orange City Fire Department, West Covina Fire Department, La Habra Heights Fire Department, Arcadia Fire Department and Sierra Madre Fire Department, according to Cal OES. ....

Disneyland vaccination distribution site to close on April 30


As of April 30, 2021, the OC Health Care Agency (HCA) Disneyland Drive-Thru Super Point-of-Dispensing (POD) site in Anaheim will close.
From opening day on January 13 through April 23, 2021, the HCA, alongside partners including Anaheim Fire & Rescue, the City of Anaheim, the Orange County Fire Authority, and community volunteers, has administered approximately 220,852 doses at the Disneyland POD site first through walk-up service and then as a drive-thru Super POD site offering Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant in-vehicle vaccinations. It is anticipated that by April 30th, when the location ceases operations, 233,000 doses will have been administered there.
“On behalf of the HCA and the County of Orange, our sincerest thanks to the Disneyland Resort for being the first organization to offer their time, talents and property to launch and sustain our first Super POD,” said Dr. Clayton Chau, County Health Officer and Director of the HCA. ....

Burned Body Found Near Anaheim Homeless Encampment Fire

ANAHEIM (CNS) - A burned body was discovered by authorities who responded to a brush fire near a homeless encampment in Anaheim, and a suspicious person at the scene was detained this morning, police said.
Police spotted the flames about 11 p.m. Tuesday near a motel on Tustin Avenue near the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway and called Anaheim Fire & Rescue, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
Once the fire was extinguished, the body of a man was discovered, police said.
The name of the victim and his cause of death were not immediately available.
The cause of the fire was under investigation. ....
