Park Lane, Weymouth. Picture: Google A FORMER garage and store in Weymouth’s Park Lane could be converted into a home after a Dorset Council planning refusal was overturned on appeal. The council had decided that the application would be out of character with the conservation area and would result in a cramped overdevelopment of the site with inadequate outside space. None of those points were accepted by a planning inspector. The building, previously owned by the NHS, is to the north east of Park Lane, behind the Conservative Club on Dorchester Road. The club had not objected to the proposal for a two-storey, two-bed home saying that it would be an improvement on the ‘eyesore’ garage.
