Adani Ports and SEZ, JM Baxi Group company and a joint venture of SKN Terminal Haryana City Gas are among companies that have submitted bids to invest in land to operate private freight terminals or multimodal logistics parks along Indian Railways’ dedicated freight corridor.
According to multiple sources, they have submitted bids for 14 stations. These include nine locations along the Western Corridor and four along the Eastern corridor. The locations for which Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL) received bids are New Dadri, New Ateli, New Sanjali, New Phulera, New Bhagega, New Kishangarh, New Dharuheda, New Kanpur, New Muzaffarnagar, New Palghar

The CMA CGM Group, a world leader in shipping and logistics, is pleased to announce the launch of CMA CGM – GatewayRail PYTHON Train Service on February 1st, 2021 on Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) from New Kishangarh Junction, Rajasthan.
The two Double stack ‘Ship to Rail’ dedicated trains, one leaving from Mundra and the other from Pipavav, were clubbed at New Kishangarh Junction for the onward journey on the WDFC to New Ateli Junction and were split from there for GatewayRail’s Inland Container Depot – Gurugram (Garhi Harsaru)

The eastern and the western dedicated freight corridors are being seen as a game-changer for India and will help in the development of new growth centres in different parts of the country, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while inaugurating the 306 kilometres long Rewari-Madar section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) on Thursday. Earlier the 351-km New Bhaupur- New Khurja section of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) was inaugurated by PM Modi on December 29, 2020.
Meanwhile, PM Modi on Friday was touched after reading a tweet over these dedicated freight corridors in the country.
