Modi also flagged off world’s first Double Stack Long Haul 1.5 km in length ‘Container Train’ virtually between Haryana’s new Ateli and Rajasthan’s New Krishnanagar. The event was also attended by Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra, Haryana Governor Satydev Narayan Arya, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, his deputy Dushyant Chautala and Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and several others.

All about Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and world s first Double-Stack Long-Haul Container train

Updated Jan 07, 2021 | 07:33 IST Western Railway becomes first Zonal Railway to run the double-stack dwarf container train long haul. These dwarf containers can hold a volume of approximately 67% more when compared to traditional containers. Double-Stack Long-Haul Container train  Key Highlights The opening of this stretch will benefit various industries in Rewari – Manesar, Narnaul, Phulera and Kishangarh areas of Rajasthan & Haryana and will also enable better usage of the container depot of CONCOR at Kathuwas. This section will also ensure seamless connectivity with the western ports of Kandla, Pipavav, Mundhra, and Dahej situated in Gujarat. With the inauguration of this section, seamless connectivity between the WDFC and EDFC will be achieved. Earlier the 351-km New Bhaupur- New Khurja section of the EDFC was dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister on 29th December 2020.
