That s because it s becoming increasingly clear that it could be some time before Covid-19 restrictions are removed entirely, despite the considerable progress on vaccinations. The good news at least is all priority groups (including over 50s) will likely have received their first dose by Easter, and that combined with the strong impact lockdowns are having on cases, it will lower hospital pressure considerably by May. ....
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) Fayetteville State University has a new chancellor Darrell Allison, a longtime advocate of North Carolina s historically minority-serving institutions, will take over the role March 15. Darrell Allison is a creative leader who understands the value of Fayetteville State University to the community, the region, and the state, University of North Carolina System President Peter Hans said. He ll be the university s 12th chancellor. Allison is currently vice president of governmental affairs and state teams at the American Federation for Children. Allison succeeds Interim Chancellor Peggy Valentine, who was appointed in July 2019 and previously served as dean of the School of Health Sciences at Winston-Salem State University. ....
The Government’s final report on the fundamental review of businesses rates has been pushed back until the autumn. The continuing impact of the coronavirus pandemic was blamed for the delay, though hopes remain that more clarity on the long-term state of the economy and public finances will be delivered later in the year. The review was first announced by Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak at last year’s Budget and a call for evidence followed in July 2020 in a bid to seek stakeholders’ views on key issues including reforming the rates multiplier and looking at alternative ways of taxing non-residential property. ....
