WASHINGTON Officer Brian D. Sicknick of the U.S. Capitol Police had multiple strokes hours after sparring with a pro-Trump mob during the Jan. 6 riot and died of natural causes, Washington’s medical examiner said on Monday.
The determination is likely to complicate the Justice Department’s efforts to prosecute anyone in the death of Officer Sicknick, 42; two men have been charged with assaulting him by spraying an unknown chemical on him outside the Capitol. ....

A US police officer who died after January s Capitol riot had two strokes and died from natural causes, the chief medical examiner for Washington DC has ruled.
Two men are accused of using a type of pepper spray on Officer Brian Sicknick.
However, the ruling means they are now unlikely to be charged with homicide.
The autopsy found no evidence of an allergic reaction to chemicals, nor of internal or external injuries, Dr Francisco Diaz said. ....

Diaz. Sicknick suffered two strokes after returning to his office on January 6 and died on January 7.
But between the time of the riot and the ME’s report, officer Sicknick’s tragic death was used as a bloody shirt to inspire and inflame the emotions of the American people. Democrats and the media made full political use of the tragedy, despite plenty of evidence that should have given pause to the partisans.
