Group files suit against alleges marginalization of Ndokwa/Ukwani land

A N10 billion fundamental enforcement suit has been filed against the Delta State Government at a Federal High, Lagos over alleged the marginalization of Ndokwa/Ukwani land.
The applicants in the suit are the President, League of Ndokwa Professionals (LNP) Chief Tony Amechi and Legal Adviser, Evans Ufeli on behalf of the people of Ndokwa/Ukwani land of Delta State.
Delta State Governor, Delta State Executive Council, Delta State House of Assembly and the Attorney General of the state are respondents in the suit.
The applicants are seeking for the an order of the court for the enforcement of the fundamental rights of the people of Ndokwa/Ukwani nation of Delta State as entrenched in Chapter IV of the Constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended). ....

The initiatives were aimed at equipping students with essential skills that will make them to be relevant and their services essential in the labour market.

The state government said the Eko job initiative in particular is fast yielding positive results as graduates of the programmes are getting better employment due to their exposure to various capacity building and skills development programmes.

Wahab, noted that those innovations were part of the state government efforts to reduce unemployment rate in the state.

According to him, the jobs initiative programme of the State Government is aimed at preparing final year and penultimate students of tertiary institutions for immediate entry into the workforce as employees and employers of labour by equipping them with the market aligned knowledge, soft skills, business tools and the mind set reorientation in the world of work. ....

Lagos, April 1, 2021 Sen. Adetokunbo Abiru (APC-Lagos East) on Thursday promised not to abandon or fail any of his constituents in both representation and improved welfare.
Abiru gave the assurance at the formal launch of Senator Tokunbo Abiru COVID-19 Relief Financial Assistance in Lagos.
He said that the assistance was a scheme designed to ameliorate the devastating economic impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the people at the bottom of the pyramid.

Abiru to launch traders' assistance programme, scholarship scheme for indigent students

Representative of the Lagos-East Senatorial District at the upper chamber, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru has expressed his readiness to launch Traders’ Assistance, Scholarship and Bursary Scheme for indigent students across 16 local government areas in the state.
Abiru made the pronouncement at the formal launch of his bi-monthly financial empowerment programme tagged ‘COVID-19 Relief Financial Assistance Scheme’ designed to empower 2000 vulnerable persons financially in the district.
While addressing the large gathering comprising of beneficiaries, members of Governor’s Advisory Council, member of the House of Representatives, party chieftains and loyalists, Abiru said: “This intervention is one in the series of programmes targeted at the critical demography in our Senatorial district. ....
